PROTECTION OF TRCA OF GDS BPM

The Matter regarding protection of allowance of GDS BPM in the event of reduction of workload has been engaging attention of the Directorate for some time past. It has now been decided with immediate effect, that in the event of drop in the workload of the BPM to that of the lower slab, protection of allowance (TRCA) at the excising slab of TRCA of GDS BPM would be provided for an year, thereby giving an opportunity to the GDS BPM to improve the workload to the original level or higher. On completion of this one year, a special review will be conducted to assess the workload of the Branch Postmaster and if the workload after review is found to be at reduced level, the allowance will be reduced to corresponding TRCA slab.

            These issues with the concurrence of Integrated Finance Wing vide their Diary No. 257/FA/12/CS dated 15.10.2012.

PAYMENT OF DEARNESS ALLOWANCE TO GRAMIN DAK SEVAKS (GDS) AT THE REVISED RATES W.E.F. 01.07.2012 ONWARDS –REG.

      Consequent upon grant of another installment of Dearness Allowance with effect from 1^st July 2012 to the Central Government employees, vide Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, O.M. No 1(8)/2012-E-II(B) dated 28^th September, 2012 , duly endorsed vide this Department’s letter No. 8-1/2012-PAP dated 28.09.2012, the Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) have also become entitled to the payment of Dearness Allowance on basic TRCA at the revised rates with effect from 01.07.2012.  It has, therefore, been decided that the Dearness Allowance payable to Gramin Dak Sevaks shall be enhance from the existing rate of 65% to 72% on the basic Time Related Continuity Allowance,  with effect from 1^st July, 2012.

2. The Additional installment of Dearness Allowance payable under this order shall be paid in cash for all Gramin Dak Sevaks The payment of arrears of dearness allowance for the month of JULY to SEPTEMBER, 2012 shall not be made before the date of disbursement of TRCA for the month of SEPTEMBER, 2012.

3. The expenditure on this account will be debited to the sub Head 'Salaries' under the relevant head and should be met from the sanctioned grant.

4. This issues with the concurrence of Integrated Finance Wing vide their Diary No 251/FA/12/CS dated 11.10.2012.

CUSTOMER MEET AT SHIMOGA

      Customer care meeting was held at Divisional Office of Shimoga on 13.10.2012 in view of POSTAL WEEK.  Sri G.C.Srinivas was presided over the meeting.  Sri M.Raghavendra, ASP (R) and Sri B.K.Srinivasan, Postmaster, Shimoga HO were on the chair. Programme starts with a prayer of Smt K.N.Seema and Sri V.Shashidhar gave a welcome speech. The prominent customer of the Indian Post were present on the ocassion.  

       Sri Guruprasad  one of the customer told that many of the services rendered by the postal department are not aware by the member public.  Hence a vide publicity is the need of the hour to attract more customer to the post office.

       Sri Suresh, one of the prominent customer from JNNCE, Shimoga  appreciated the services of postal department and gave opinion that he was satisfied with the services of postal department.  He also suggests for the quick delivery of ordinary letters.

       Sri G.C.Srinivas, SPOs, Shimoga said that the department is taking all measures for speedy delivery of ordinary letters and also told briefly regarding the services rendering by the india post and seeks co operation of the member publics for the better services.

       A momento was given to prominent customers who are in touch with department and gave good business.  The function was concluded with vote of thanks of Sri Prakash Rao, PRI (P), Shimoga HO.   

JOINT WORKING COMMITTEE MEETING.

The joint working committee meeting of our Union was held at union office on 14.10.2012. Com.B.Sudhanandappa, President Group C, Com.K.S.Ranganath, President, Postmen & Gr D and Com.Shantappa, Presidident, AIPEDEU were on the chair.

A detail discussion was held on the prose and concept of indefinite strike from 16.10.2012 of GDS were held.  As in the past it was decided unanimously to join strike  and make it a grand success. Group C and Postmen and Group D unions will give solidarity support to the GDS union and will watch the issue seriously.  some resolutions were passed in the meeting that will be published in the next post.  Com.G.Raghavendra Secretary Gr C welcomed the all the office bearers and dignitary  and com.H.R.Eshwarappa, Secretary Postmen and Gr D delivered the vote of thanks.
